Aloha means "with love"

Hawaii was awesome! We spent the first 4 nights with my Aunt Lu and Uncle Gordon and Cousin Michael near Wikiki. We stayed in their guest room that overlooked the ocean. It was so fun to see the Hiltons again after so long. The next 3 nights we spent at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore - "True Hawaii."

Some trip highlights:

1st day in Oahu driving along the coast/beach hopping.

Polynesian Cultural Center:
A whole-day event filled with traditional presentations from all the Polynesian islands including Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, Hawaii, and more! It was awesome! We attended a Luau, learned to hula, and had a great time! We also visited BYU-Hawaii and the Laie Temple that day - gorgeous!

After the Luau, there was a special show performed. It was called "Breath of Life (Ha)" and was so beautifully done - lots of hula and warrior dances - really cool!

How do they move their hips like that?! Amazing!

The crazy eyes are part of the performance - to intimidate/war face (Mauri people)

"Everybody Hula!"

Waikiki:
Buying souvenirs at the tourist market in Waikiki - this is a coy pond.

Waikiki, on the beach at night - the city is literally right on the water's edge - so cool!

This is the surf king of Hawaii from back in the day. People hang their leis on him everyday in Waikiki - big tourist hot spot.

Turtle Bay Resort:
The view from our room at Turtle Bay Resort. Right on the beach - gorgeous!

"Hortus the Tortuous" - built by Mike and I on the Turtle Bay Beach
We watched this Hawaiian Munk Seal swim up the Turtle Bay next to our hotel and plop on the sandy beach. He stayed there to sun bathe for the next 2 days before leaving.

The Laie, Hawaii Temple:
Visitor's Center
Beautiful temple grounds - beautiful flowers everywhere

The temple was closed for renovation, but we just walked on the beautiful grounds there. From where we are standing here, you can see down a road lined with palm trees straight out to the ocean. Beautiful!

I'm looking at the island that looks light a hat...while wearing a hat : )

Aloha!
